It’s Magic are organising the return of the locally renowned annual concert weekend at Victoria Park, Haywards Heath. Dubbed as the new forces sweetheart, international star mezzo-soprano, Katherine Jenkins has agreed to perform on Saturday 5 July, for what promises to be a magical summer’s evening of international quality. The evening closes with a crackling and streaming fireworks finale. Her sell out concerts and hugely popular CDs redefine the concept of Classical Crossover and Katherine is the only singer in musical history to simultaneously hold the number 1, 2 and 3 position in the classical charts, which she did with 3 of her 5 albums; Premiere, Second Nature, and Living the Dream. Her debut album, 2004’s appropriately titled Premiere, was the fastest selling of all time by a Mezzo Soprano, with well over 30,000 copies snapped up in the first week. She is not only glamorous, but also very down to earth and is light years away from the stereotypical opera singer. She said of the Haywards Heath venue I absolutely love singing outdoors, it’s lovely to see people enjoying the music in a relaxed, happy atmosphere. Katherine will be accompanied by the fabulous Sussex Symphony Orchestra who will be conducted by the charismatic conductor Mark Andrew James. Prodigious international violinist and prizewinner of 15 international competitions Diana Galvydyte, will be visiting from Lithuania, and has agreed to perform as one of the many talented musical treats of the evening. Tim French from It’s Magic said It’s an outstanding achievement for Haywards Heath to have secured Katherine for a third time and we intend to make this Concert Weekend a dynamic event for the whole community. Come and join us in Haywards Heath for a magical summers evening in the presence of an ascending magic star and talented musicians. The show starts at 6pm when supporting acts will take the stage.
