Jazz music makes a welcome return to Spinningfields this weekend courtesy of The Dixie Kings. Following on from their two successful performances in June, the band will grace the Spinningfields stage to play three shows this Thursday, Friday and Sunday (3rd, 4th and 6th between 12pm-2pm). The Dixie Kings will be entertaining the Spinningfields crowds with their New Orleans inspired Dixieland Jazz, playing well known jazz, blues and popular standards from the 1920’s and 1930’s. Access to Spinningfields is easy from Deansgate, Bridge or Quay Streets. The stage is located on the banks of the River Irwell at the end of Hardman Boulevard. With a wide range of free events, including weekly performances from classical and jazz musicians to comedians and theatre groups planned for the coming months - and the opportunity to dine alfresco at one of the many top class eateries on offer - summer is set to be action packed at Spinningfields. Other acts set to perform on the showcase stage over the coming weeks and month will be announced shortly. |
