Note: A very warm welcome to Philip Meaden, who took over on David Hoult’s retirement last year as Principal of Leeds College of Music. Philip came to Leeds from the headship of Morley College, where City Organist Simon Lindley worked as an accompanist to the Tilford Bach Festival Choir forty years ago. Philip has assembled a splendid programme of greatly-loved pieces ranging from Bach to Andriessen and culminating in Boëllmann’s monumental Gothic Suite with its brooding Toccata that seems to have escaped from an early silent movie.
