Scottish mezzo-soprano Karen Cargill launches this season's Sunday-afternoon strand within Wigmore Hall's prestigious Song Recital Series, in which young artists are encouraged into the arena of the song recital. Cargill, who makes her Berlin Philharmonic debut this year, includes Debussy's perfumed Chansons de Bilitis and Mahler's settings of Rückert, which he saw as lyrical poetry from the source. |
