Note: The Magnificat, Mary's song of praise on learning she was to give birth to Jesus, is full of life and joy and is one of Bach's major choral works. Bach wrote the Cantata to celebrate Epiphany, the coming of the Three Wise Men, and his orchestral suite contains the famous Air on the G string. This concert sees the welcome return to Leeds of the renowned English Chamber Orchestra with an array of star soloists.
