Note: The supremely gifted Russian pianist Alexander Karpayev is joined by the dynamic and talented Northerly winds (oboe, horn, basson, clarinet and flute) for Beethoven’s quintet. Virtuosic works for winds alone by the French composers Damase and Taffanel will contrast with Karpayev’s performance of Debussy, Brahms and Liszt, an opportunity for him to show his sparkling and mature talents which have already dazzled informed London audiences.
